Event Rules

Here is some useful information on rules and regulations

  • Entrants must be over 14 and if under 18, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • Time Limit 11 hours. Event centre will not be manned after 7.00pm.
  • All entrants must sign in at the Event Centre and time limits will also be enforced at each check point.
  • Anyone retiring from the event must report to a checkpoint on route or the Event Centre.
  • Those wishing to retire at checkpoints will be transported to the finish.
  • All entrants must report to the Event Centre when finished.
  • Entrants must report to all self-clip passage controls. Cards must be carried at all times and also clipped by Checkpoint Steward.
  • As we are an ECO “Green Flag” School please bring your own mug for hot drinks and a water bottle for checkpoint refills.
  • We’ll be taking photos during the event and may use them for future publicity. If you’d prefer your picture not to be used, please let us know!
  • Closing date for entries: 12th May 2019
  • No entries will be accepted on the day of the Event.
  • The organisers reserve the right to withdraw entrants or stop the event at any time should they see fit.
  • Very Important: Have a great time and enjoy our beautiful Clun countryside!


  • Registration Times:
  • 26 mile walkers: 6.45am to 7.25am
  • 16 mile walkers: 6.45 am to 8.00am
  • Runners: 8.15am – 8.50am
  • Please have your walk number (issued with route guide) to hand when you register and take note of your start time.

  • Start times:

  • – 26 mile walkers: 7.30am
  • 16 mile walkers: 8.15am
  • Runners: 9.00am

  • Suggested Equipment:

    It is essential to use O.S. Explorer Maps 201 and 216. Compass, whistle, first aid, hat, gloves, waterproofs, spare jumper, water bottle, sun cream, and any food in addition to checkpoint refreshments. Mobile phone (EE and Vodafone networks intermittently reliable!)


  • St George’s School (at start): Tea & coffee, fresh fruit and chocolate bars
  • Check Point 1 – Tea/coffee, water, cake.
  • Check Point 2 – Tea/coffee, water, hot dogs, soup (V), cake, sandwiches (V).
  • Check Point 3 – Tea/coffee, water, cake.
  • St George’s School (at finish) Home cooked buffet style lunch, including a range of tasty homemade salads, local ham and jacket potatoes. Tea /coffee and squash.
